Joy has added the blog from the third day of the Olympic Trials, click here to read... 9/30/07: The first Olympic Trials have been completed. The top 8 women are: Jennifer Nichols, Khatuna Lorig, Karen Scavotto, Lindsay Pian, Dawn Chudy, Mandy Nichols, Joy Fahrenkrog, and Kate Anderson. These women, along with 8 others (click here to see results) comprise the 2008 Olympic Shadow Team. The next nomination shoot will be in Chula Vista, April 1st-6th. 9/29/07: BLOG! Joy makes the cut finishing the first day in 6th place, just one point out of 5th! 9/27/07: BLOG! With the Olypmic Trials about to start, Joy weighs in on her last tournament, the US Nationals and the US Open where she shot a few personal bests and finished her highest in both tournaments. 9/21/07: The first Olympic Trials begin one week from today! Check out the results from this link. 9/1/07: Janice Walth, the US's first competitive blind archer is raising money to compete at the Paralympic World Championships in Korea in October. If you are interested in learning more or participating in a raffle to help raise money, please click here... 8/25/07: BEIJING TEST EVENT - All three US Women finished in the top 16. Jenny Nichols in 6th place, Khatuna in 7th and Karen Scavatto in 16th. Brady Ellison has made it all the way to the top 8, final results for the men will be posted tomorrow. Click here for the women's results... 8/22/07: BEIJING TEST EVENT - The US Women's and Men's teams have both won bronze! Click here to see results and read quotes from the archers... 8/20/07: BEIJING TEST EVENT - The US women's team of Jennifer Nichols, Khatuna Lorig, and Karen Scavatto ranked 3rd in the team rankings. Jenny was 7th individually, Khatuna 9th, and Karen 28th. The US men's team of Brady Ellison, Butch Johnson and Vic Wunderle are currently ranked 7th for the teams. The best indivdual showing was Brady who is currently ranked 12th. Team elimination rounds to be held tomorrow. Click here to learn more about the test event... 8/11/07: Joy finishes 5th in the US Outdoor Target Championships, and 5th in the US Open. There were 73 competitors. Joy also finished 5th in the US Archery Team rankings for 2008 and has made her 4th consecutive national team. Click here for final results... 8/8/07: US NATIONALS - Today marks one year until the opening day of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. Meanwhile, Joy Fahrenkrog is vying for her 4th consecutive national team, shooting the National Championships in Colordo Springs, Colorado. Tune into channel 9 KUSA-TV from 10am-11am! 7/31/07: FCA Impact Play: "A Positive Outlook" 6/13/07: Joy wins 5 golds and a bronze at the Puerto Rico World Ranking Event, click here for the press release, results, and photos. 5/27/07: Joy qualified 11th and finished 21st at the 2007 Gold Cup held in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
