Joy Fahrenkrog made it through the first round of the Face 2 Face tournament in Amsterdam on Friday.  Each archer shot 5 matches against other archers.  There were four groups in teh Women's Recurve division (A-D), Joy was assigned to group A.  Each match was scored out of 12 points, 4 ends of 3 arrows.  The winners and second place shooters from each group automatically advance to the second round.  The next four best scores round out the cut to the top 12.  Although Fahrenkrog was 4^th in her group, she was in the toughest group, so she was able to qualify for tomorrow by shooting the fourth highest non-automatic score. 

Tomorrow there will be two groups of six archers and the top two shooters from each group will advance to the semifinals.  The semifinals and finals will be best out of 5 arrows and best out of 7 arrows and will start on Sunday.
