Friday night,
despite snow and ice, a small group of hardy archers gathered at the Archery Custom Shop on Hamilton Ave
in Forest Park, IL to help
raise money for local archer Joy Fahrenkrog. In all $160 was raised and Fahrenkrog
says she will use the money to pay for travel expenses associated with the World Indoor Trials which commence next Saturday
in Hillsboro, TX. The trials will be held over two days and the three shooters
with the highest score out of 2,430 points will go to Denmark
in March for the World Indoor Championships.
Terry Pryor,
the owner of Archery Custom Shop, is not foreign to helping Joy reach her goals. One
month ago, Fahrenkrog qualified for funding for the Worlds Team by shooting a qualifier at his shop. “I’m so thankful to Terry and all the guys who took the time to help me out.” says Fahrenkrog,
“It is so empowering to know that other people are willing to say they believe in what you are doing and then go one
step further and invest in your dream.” Fahrenkrog leaves Thursday for
the trials and is considered a favorite for the team having placed 3rd at the Las Vegas World Indoor Festival last year
as well as 5th just three weeks ago at the highly promoted European Face 2 Face tournament.
