After qualifying 5th,
the PSE team representing the US of Jenny Nichols, Mandy Nichols and Joy Fahrenkrog missed a top 4 finish by just 1 point
losing to the team from Great Britain in the quarter finals. They finished 6th
overall. The British team went on to win the silver losing to the Ukraine. China came in third.
Individually,
Jenny qualified in 3rd place, Mandy in 27th and Joy in 29th.
Jenny had the best Olympic round finish of the American women coming 5th.
After beating Karasiova from Belarus in the 1/32nd round 164-150, she then beat France’s Delamare
157-150. In the quarterfinals she faced China’s Hui losing 113-107 (which
was erroneously reported as 113-101). Both Joy and Mandy were knocked out in
the first round, Joy losing to Japan’s Suga 149-145 to finish 36th and Mandy losing to Russia’s Dardanova
143-140 finishing 40th.
